We have completed the construction of the dormitory and 48 students have got a place. They joined Dilla high school and are very happy to get a place to live. As we have described before the dormitory has facility (kitchen, shower, toilet, cloth washing facility, etc)

We continue our work with GDA on the strengthening of the dormitory and make it more comfortable for the students to succeed on their education. We have hired a social worker and three guards to assist the work. This helps us to coordinate the work more quickly and effectively.

The next target will be securing the compound by making new face and construction of office and storage facility for further activities in the project.

New report

posted Apr 8, 2012, 8:07 AM by Mengesha Alemu

I have got a report from Netsanet that the girls are having good time in the dormitory and going to school daily.

She told me that they are facing big challenge that there is no water on the tap, even if they are building water storage and the necessary facilities. This is a problem for Dilla town and she told me that they are working hard to get permanent solution.

We will hire two guards and one controller soon who can assist the girls in their performance at school.

The next block construction will start soon. When the next block completes we will accommodate more than 40 girls.
